What is skin polishing?

Skin polishing is exfoliating that removes dead skin cells, promote cell regeneration, and moisturizes the skin. It is typically something this is done at a spa to prepare the skin for other treatments. Skin polishing can be done on the face and body.

Up your water intake before polishing. It is important your skin is as hydrated and healthy as possible when you go into the polishing process. To help with this, up your water intake. Aim to drink anywhere between 10 to 12 glasses of water a day. Do this for about a week before you plan to polish your skin.

Before you apply your skin polish, steam face, or use a warm towel. This helps relax you and open your pores, allowing your skin to be cleansed and polished.

IMPORTANT: Perform skin polishing at night or at a time when you can let your skin rest. Avoid makeup for a day and limit exposure to extreme heat and the sun.

Baking Soda and Face Wash Scrub

Mix one part baking soda https://amzn.to/3GCL1Fs with one part of your regular face wash [I used castile soap https://amzn.to/3nwF6KA as my face wash] to make a baking soda rub. The natural grains in baking soda help remove dead skin cells and replenish and polish your skin. Use enough baking soda/face wash to form a thick paste. Apply the polish to your face/body. Use your fingers to rub the gently polish your face. Massage in circular motions until the polish is distributed evenly throughout your face/body. Rinse off with warm water before proceeding to apply skin products [serums, moisturizer, lotions, etc.].

Sugar And Honey [or Oil] Skin Polishing Scrub

Take a tablespoon of sugar. Sugar is enriched with glycolic acid, which is known to effectively peel away marks, imperfections, and blemishes from the skin. And use 1 tablespoon of honey https://amzn.to/33ExBdm and an oil of your choice. The oil is used for my mix was Moringa Oil. The honey will add nourishment to your skin and moisturize it, as will the oil. Gently use circular motions to polish your skin. This one is slightly more abrasive, and I would choose this one once a month. Rinse off with warm water before proceeding to apply skin products [serums, moisturizer, lotions, etc.].

Rice Flour Skin Polishing Scrub

Rice flour polishing scrub removes the dead, flaky skin and will reveal smoother looking skin with a healthy glow. In addition, adding a little lemon juice will help in lightening and brightening the skin. This scrub is worth giving a shot over the weekend for restoring your skin. You can purchase rice flour https://amzn.to/3KhQJP9 or best yet, make your own. It has more texture and will do a superb job in polishing the skin. Use a tablespoon of Rice Flour/Powder and enough water to make a paste. I recommend doing this method once a week. Some skin types may require it twice a week. But more than that is too much exfoliation. Apply the polish to your face/body. Use your fingers to rub the gently polish your face. Massage in circular motions until the polish is distributed evenly throughout your face/body. Rinse off with warm water before proceeding to apply skin products [serums, moisturizer, lotions, etc.].

Orange Peel Powder Polishing Scrub

Orange peels are rich in vitamin C and are great for oily acne-prone skin. Orange Peel (Citrus Aurantium) Powder https://amzn.to/34Y74Zd with milk (any kind you chose) can help you in exfoliating your skin, increasing the circulation, and brightening it up. In a small bowl, mix 2 teaspoons orange peel powder with 1+ teaspoon milk. Apply the polish to your face/body. Use your fingers to rub the gently polish your face. Massage in circular motions until the polish is distributed evenly throughout your face/body. Rinse off with warm water before proceeding to apply skin products [serums, moisturizer, lotions, etc.]. I recommend doing this method once a week. Some skin types may require it twice a week. But more than that is too much exfoliation.
